Millions in India, afflicted by serious illnesses, have been trapped into a vicious cycle of helplessness. Their challenge is not lack of access to health care; but their challenge is to be able to access a robust caring community to lessen their burden. They are written off as liability, even by their primary family due to unmitigated economic predicament.
Women patients needing terminal care face twice discrimination and stigma; they need to be treated with equity.
We vow to stand by these weak and vulnerable. We are sharing consciousness with those fading into eternity, to die consciously with dignity.
